BOX OF SUNSHINE!

I decided to send a Box of Sunshine for my friend's birthday as she lives in a different state and we were missing each other. So I think the only rule for a Box of Sunshine is YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW!!! I used a two day mailing box, and it was just medium size. I used scrap booking paper to cover all sides, and the best thing is the scrap booking paper fits almost exactly on all sides (including the bottom) so yay! Not too much scissor work. I used 3 different patterns of paper, 2 for opposite sides, and one for the bottom that was cute happy birthday paper. And i just used tape to secure the paper onto the sides of the box (I figured glue would be too much of a hassle).

Next I filled the box! I simply went to the 99cent store and walked around looking for yellow things that I thought my friend would like. Here's what I put; a pack of juicy fruit gum, starburst, honey, Lays potato chips, Croutons, a giant highlighter, a yellow mug, and yellow hair curlers. You really can put whatever in the box, most the items were inside jokes and things she loved. :)

Now you may be wondering what the happy jar is! It was my favorite thing in the Box of Sunshine! I just took a plastic container decorated it with stickers and filled it with little quotes, sayings, inspiration, pictures of us with fun writings on the back, jokes and anything I could think of that would make her smile! :) This could be also used for a long-distance relationship as they are all personal notes to whomever you love. :)

Next was packaging. Because I didn't want everything to get jumbled up during the shipment process, I stuffed it with tissue paper to secure all the items. I also printed out a Box of Sunshine saying (shown here) at Walmart.
And that's it! I hope you have some fun making your Box of Sunshine, Happy Jar, or just being creative for your special someone! Have any questions, comment below!
